VolcanoScapes... Kilauea's Flow to Waikupanaha - Special Edition           60 minutes This program shows the most recent activity of Kilauea Volcano. Nearly a year ago, Kilauea’s long-lasting eruption took a break. Pele “paused” for a month. Scientists puzzled as swarms of earthquakes rattled the summit and east rift zones, but very little lava appeared anywhere. There were indications of magma movement, but nothing surfacing. Finally Kilauea’s main vent, Pu`u `O`o reactivated, forming a lava lake. Scientists were entertained by the constantly changing cauldron for three weeks before it suddenly vanished again. Suddenly, on July 21 st, Kilauea’s current eruption, begins in earnest… Pele burst forth with a brand new fissure eruption… heading downslope east of the Pu`u `O`o vent for the first time since 1992!    To be released in June 2008.
